Microsoft has entered the world of weblogs in a big way today, with the announcement of the MSN SPACES beta.
It looks like a very good first effort, with heavy borrowing from Typepad and Blogger, plus some ActiveX links to photo and music tools, and integration with their IM client, for showing presence. The example blog in the image is located here, and there's a good video of some of the developers on Channel 9. For grins, check out my test space here.
